Women's Soccer Cal Pac Regular Season Co-Champions

Westcliff Warriors played their last game of the regular season last Thursday against Soka University of America. Becoming a Champion is not easy it takes a lot of work, dedication and strength. 

Our Women's Soccer team had to put in the work on the last game of the season. It was a tough job going against fellow Cal Pac tournament opponent SOKA. Westcliff kept on knocking at the door desperatelyt trying to break the 0-0 tie.

Soka played the Warriors very well on their home turf. It wasn't until the 81st minute that Jaida Wilson was able to punch a goal in. Westcliff Warriors saw the clock hit zero it was celebration time. The Warriors finished the 2024 regular season with the best record in program history in 10-0-2. 

They had to wait until Saturday to hear word that they were announced the 2024 Cal Pac Regular Season Co-Champions. Westcliff will enter the Cal Pac Tournament as the #2 seed. They will mostly likely face Soka University of America in the Cal Pac Semifinals.

Time for postseason action!!

Coaches' Notes

"I am so so so proud of these girls. We came into the game a little blind, Soka have played a couple different shapes so we weren't sure how or where the match ups were.
 
Really tactical battle. Started with great energy and had some great opportunities to be leading but didn't take them and then as the game fatigues it gets stretched and can go either way.
 
These girls went to the well for it and so fitting that a stand out player Jaida Wilson gets the game winning goal. All year they've not been given too much love, talks of schedules, and only 1 player of the week award all season.
 
It seems we were on nobody's radar, but tonight the girls put themselves out there as a worthy Conference Champion, an undefeated season, and statistically the best defense in the nation in the NAIA. 
 
Not to mention my 25th win as Westcliff Head Coach. I could not be more proud to be associated with them and this staff." - Head Coach Jack Gidney

Westcliff Warriors enter the Cal Pac Tournament as the #2 Seed which will begin on November 7th hosted by Soka University.
