The top two teams of the Cal Pac faced off as the Westcliff softball team visited Embry-Riddle on Friday afternoon.
The Warriors handed the Eagles their second conference loss as they split the first doubleheader losing the first game 16-9, and winning the Game 2, 7-0.
In Game 1, the Warriors took the lead with a pair of runs in the opening inning, but Embry-Riddle responded with three runs in the bottom of the first.
Westcliff fell behind as the Eagles scored runs in every inning leading up to the fifth.
In the top of the fifth inning, Kassidy Moore hit a four-run homer to center field, bringing the Warriors closer in the score.
But it wasn't enough as Westcliff went on to drop the first game of the doubleheader.
Jessalyn Villicana had a triple as she went 1-for-4.
In Game 2, the Warriors took the early lead again with a pair of runs in the top of the first after a couple of errors from the Eagles' outfield.
Emily Rosas was in full command out on the mound as she went all seven innings and allowed only three hits, with zero runs, and tallied seven strikeouts.
Mendoza went 1-for-2 with her only hit coming as a homerun, bringing in 2 RBI.
Airilin Ramirez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Kassandra Ramos went 2-for-4 and continues to have a solid season for the Warriors.
Rosas kept the Eagles at bay with zero runs as Westcliff scored in the third, fourth, and fifth.
With the results of both games, WU has a record of (20-16, Cal Pac 14-4) and is firmly in the second spot of the standings.
They will close out the series with a second doubleheader set to start at noon on Saturday.
