Westcliff Warriors hosted the Bethesda Flames underneath the friday night lights. The match was a dominant display from the Warriors taking shots after shots.
However, it took the Warriors awhile to find the back of the net. It wasn't until the 2nd half that the Warriors broke the barrier. Flames were issued a red card from a break 1 v 1 situation as Jose Urdiano Morales was taken from behind that the Flames went a man down.
It was five minutes after that Warrior Demitri Rodriquez Robles found the back of the net from a pass from Sohaib Owais. It was only three minutes after that a foul in Warriors box gave the Flames a penalty shot opportunity.
Cheers erupted from the Bethesda bench for the potential to tie up the match. Jesse Heredia back on his line cool, calm and collected. Dove to his left and expertly choose the right side as he punched the penalty shot away.
Warriors would then continue to add pressure on the Flames keeper who had an impressive display saving 13 shots on frame. However, in the 73rd minute from a pass from Martin Slatsve to Lennard Schneider gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead.
Westcliff kept the shutout and the win 2-0 against the Bethesda Flames. Warriors shot for a total of 34 shots with 13 Corner Kicks. Warriors improve to 3-1 on the season.
Westcliff will be hosting #23 Southern Oregon next Friday September 13th at 4:00pm at Long Beach City College.
