Late Goals Lift Up Warriors Past the Firebirds
Westcliff Warriors went on down south early thursday morning to take on the Saint Katherine Firebirds.
Warriors came out with total ball security and control limiting the Firebirds to only 1 recorded shot in the entire 1st half. The Warriors witnessed Saint Katherine play very defensively with a heavy back line presence.
Warriors were unable to create dangerous offensive momentum before the halftime break. The 2nd half was a lot of the same with Westcliff having trouble finding the open lanes to find the crucial goal that they needed.
Finally a loose ball in the 77th minute poked in by Daniel Segal opened the floodgates.
In the final 10 minutes of the game Westcliff scored 3 more times off of goals from Jordan Di Lonardo, Wissem Obeid and Lucas Rosell. Warriors take the 4-0 win against the Firebirds
Warriors still occupy the #1 spot in the Cal Pac with 5 matches to go in the regular season.
Standout Performances
Noah Schwengeler had a crucial save to record the 7th clean sheet for the Warriors and his 9th win on the season in goal.
Daniel Segal opened up with his 1st goal of the season and his1st game winning goal in his career.
Jordan Di Lonardo and Wissem Obeid added a goal apiece. Obeid moves to 2nd on the Cal Pac Leaderboard in Goals. Di Lonardo at the #1 Spot in Assists.

Coaches Notes
What was discussed at halftime? I told the guys to keep being patient and the goal will come.
We need to do a better job of circulating the ball because it was too slow. Going into the 2nd half the guys stuck to the game plan.
USK goalkeeper made some fantastic saves and they cleared four or five off the line in the second half.
I told the boys after the game to stay disciplined for the whole game and sticking together as a group. Guys never got frustrated with one or another.
Super proud of how they handle themselves. Now its rest and recovery and refocus for our match on Sunday against La Sierra.
