Westcliff's baseball team has been able to string together some of their best performances late in the season, winning four of their last five.
Last week the group came together in an emotional week and took the series against ERAU, winning the doubleheader which propelled them into the fifth spot in the Cal Pac standings.
This week, they played two solo games against Nobel University and won with identical scores of 16-3.
The team has been focused and motivated to qualify for the postseason tournament where only the top five teams make it.
The Warriors (18-21, Cal Pac 9-9) are tied with Park-Gilbert.
But there are still games to be played for Westcliff as they have a couple of make-ups against USK, Providence Christian, and Park.
Winning two or more of the remaining conference games would put the Warriors in a favorable position to be one of the qualifiers and could move them even higher in the standings.
Head Coach Dylan Hoffman has been very pleased with the way this group has come together and competed in the last month.
"The guys just came out and gave it their all, they put their blood, sweat, tears, and even their hearts on the line," Hoffman said. "I'm just appreciative of the guys giving their 110% effort."
"We already forgot these two games today and we're ready for tomorrow," said Hoffman after their victories over Nobel University. "We have the mentality of every inning every pitch, one pitch at a time. Trust in the next guy up."
Up next, the Warriors will travel to USK on Monday for an evening game at 6:30 p.m.
The following day on Tuesday, Westcliff will host PCC at the Great Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
