Dubs Drub Nobel in Game 1, Sweep Knights
The Westcliff baseball team scored four in the second and six in the third to take a 10-0 lead into fourth inning before wrapping up a Game 1 laugher, 23-3, Thursday morning at the Great Park. Westcliff took home the sweep with a 7-4 win in Game 2.

The Westcliff baseball team scored four in the second and six in the third to take a 10-0 lead into fourth inning before wrapping up a Game 1 laugher, 23-3, Thursday morning at the blustery Great Park.
Westcliff took home the sweep with a 7-4 win in Game 2.
Kyle Douphner took the hill for the Warriors in the Game 1 and was absolutely fantastic, shutting out the Knights through five full, allowing just two hits and sending down five by way of strikes.
Cameron Nguyen was touched up in the six for three earned, and Symon Tarbell closed it out.
Miguel España opened the scoring when he sent a long fly to right that was misplayed, scoring Ian Avalos.
Eddie Rivero made it 4-0 later on when he singled to left, scoring Damien Holmes.
Micah Wallette opened the scoring in the six-run third when singled up the middle scoring Nick Malvini.
España then singled to right plating Avalos, before Zane Parmenter doubled to right scoring Wallette and making it 8-0.
Rivero's single to left-center made it 10-0 when Holmes scored his second run.
Rivero, Drew Barrett, Steven Hayden, Avalos and Parmenter all had doubles.
Holmes and Issac Miller recorded triples.
Kolby Wagatsuma blasted a three-run shot in the fourth and finished with five RBI.
All told, the Warriors racked up 22 basehits in the route.
Game 2 Recap
The Warriors picked up the win despite being out-hit by the Knights, 8-3.
Steven Hayden got the win, finished three full on five hits and a pair of strikeouts, allowing two earned.
Brandon Seidner (3 Ks) worked the fourth and fifth, and Dylan Jacquez (1 K) earned the save.
Holmes had another triple, and Avalos had a pair of RBI.
Wallette also had two RBI, as did Parmenter, and España knocked home one of his own.
On the paths, Rivero had a pair of steal, as his Brady Villegas.
Sawyer Stidham and España had one each.
Up next, the Warriors travel to Hope International Friday for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
