Coaches' Notes
"Proud of the result. Proud of the spirit. First time we've let a goal in and easy for that to rock you when you haven't let one in yet. Team showed great resolve to grind out the result. We couldn't get the press right in the midfield area for a while, credit to Marlene Gonzalez and Isa Covarrubias who injected real energy into midfield to help turn that around.
Isa in particular was a stand out for me popping up with another important goal to get it done. Not our best but considering the occasion of a home conference opener in the stadium and the pressure we are taking on as a group this year with our big expectations, we are happy with the win and to move to the next one." Head Coach Jack Gidney
"Proud of the team for battling through and getting a result. We weren't our best and we know that but a Championship team can find a way to get it done especially before you head on the road." - Captain Jordan Moreno
Westcliff will be on the road taking on Cal Maritime and Pacific Union. Cal Maritime match will be Oct 4th at 5:00pm.
