Warriors Struggling to Find their Groove Early On
The Westcliff baseball team is still in search of their first win after they lost a doubleheader against Hope International Friday afternoon.
It has been a rough start to their season as the Warriors lost the first game of the series 7-6, and the second game 7-1.
In the first game, the Warriors found themselves up four after scoring them in the third inning.
Second baseman Eddie Rivero went 2-5 and scored two runs.
But Westcliff wasn't able to shut down Hope International, especially in the fifth and sixth innings.
The Warriors allowed two and three runs and instantly fell behind to a very good Hope International team.
The Warriors faced some really solid pitching in both games as they continue to struggle in connecting with the ball this season.
In the second game, Westcliff continued struggling with only seven hits compared to Hope's 10.
In both games, the Warriors have had to go through a couple of pitchers as they try to find some consistency this season.
With both losses on Friday, Westcliff starts off this season losing their first five games.
They will try to get the first win on Saturday, Feb. 4, when they play a doubleheader against Bethesda University.
The games will be played on the Vanguard University baseball field, with the first pitch at 11 AM.
